Types of alerts


This section describes the types of alerts available on Track Fleet.

Movement

  • Geofence entrance or exit
    Geofence is a restricted area on a map. It is created to controll trackers inside and out of it.On our platform geofences are used for setting a virtual perimeter. You will get notifications when your objects cross the borders. So, for example, if some building machinery leave the zone, chief will get email or SMS notification.
  • Speed exceeding
    Our GPS-tracking system allows you to control speed exceeding. Speed limit you set on your own.You can create one or several rules to control speed of your drivers. When the system fix speed exceeding you will get SMS or email notification.You can choose the hardware or software version of this rule (if supported by the tracker). In the case of hardware, all calculations are made by the tracker itself and it only sends an overspeed event to the server. If you choose software, the server will do the calculations.
  • Parking state detection
    Some organizations want to control the driving time of their vehicles. For example, vehicles shouldn’t be used off duty. So this rule helps to stay aware of beginning/end of a trip. It sends notifications on your email address or phone number about the parking state of your objects.

Scheduling

  • Deviation from the route
    Some companies control their employees’ traffic routes. Using the app “Geofences” you can create a strict route. Then you should just set this rule to control deviations. You will get SMS or emails about breaking the rule.
  • Work status change
    With the help of the “Working statuses” feature, mobile employees can indicate what they are doing at the moment and inform about their readiness to start a new task by selecting the corresponding point from a list created by a supervisor. This way, after the ”Work status change” rule, has been activated, the monitoring system will inform about changes in your employees’ current statuses (for ex., free, started working) by SMS or email messages.
  • Task performance
    This feature is perfectly suitable for companies with a large number of mobile employees. By setting up the rule, you can control a process of task performance as well as receive notifications about submitted forms. The system will inform you about the event by SMS, email, or with push-notification to the “X-GPS Monitor” mobile app.
  • Scheduled visits
    Rule is used for tracking geofence visits by old Track Fleet devices.
  • Parking time
    This rule will notify you whenever system detects parking that lasts longer than specified time. You can specify interval from 5 to 1440 minutes.
  • Driving time
    This rule will help you track work/rest conditions of your drivers.System will notify you once tracker exceeds allowed uninterrupted driving period. Rule will reset once driver rests for specified time.
    You will need to specify 2 intervals:

    • max allowed driving time
    • minimal parking time to reset the rule

Fuel and eco-driving

  • Excessive idling
    This feature is useful for owners of a fleet or several cars, as it gives a possibility to reduce fuel costs. Also, it helps to control drivers. If a vehicle stands still but the ignition is ON, the system will send you SMS or email notification. At the end of excessive idling, you will also receive a notification. So, you may always be aware of engine excessive idling.
  • Fuel level change
    This rule is designed to help monitor the fuel level in real-time by receiving immediate notifications on any drastic fuel level changes: decreases or increases. Notifications can be sent via SMS and/or email.
    Before creating the rule, please add and configure a fuel level sensor you want to monitor.
  • Harsh driving
    A lot of vehicle GPS trackers have a built-in detector of harsh driving. It constantly controls the value of accelerations during speed-ups, braking, and turns. This feature gives the ability to control the driving quality of employees.Firstly you should configure the detection of harsh driving, and create the rule “harsh driving”, you will always know when the car passes the limit values, the system fixes the corresponding event. Further, these “Harsh driving” events can be controlled by means of notifications and reports.

Safety

  • Pressing SOS button
    The SOS button gives a great possibility to ask for help in extreme situations. For example, if your child presses this button you will get SMS or email immediately.
  • Autogeofencing
    Autogeofencing feature ensures the safety of your device. When the vehicle is parked device will create a geofence around it. If vehicles crosses the border it will alert the owner.
  • Fall detection
    Fall detection alert can be used to inform medical staff and request immediate help.
  • Unauthorized movement
    You need to be sure that your car is safe in your absence. In case your vehicle is off, but the car with mounted tracker starts moving, the platform will inform you about this Unauthorized movement. This function is useful when, for example, the car is evacuated or carjacked. The system will inform you by SMS / email notification.
  • Car crash
    Keep track of your driver’s driving habits.
    Your dispatch can also stay on track and will be able to react fast in case a car crash was detected.
  • Autocontrol related rules
    This alert will help track a variety of features: status of security mode; GSM signal damping; Unauthorized movement; Ignition; Opening of doors, hood and trunk; Disabling external power supply.Used for Wondeproud devices.
  • Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)ADAS rules will help your driver be more focused. System will alert if it detects any of the following events:
    • Lane Departure Warning
    • Forward Collision Warning
    • Headway Monitoring Warning
    • Peds in danger zone
    • Peds Collision Warning
    • Traffic sign recognition
  • Identification via RFID/iButton/Camera
    Event will notify you that a new RFID key was read by the device.For Suntech ST3300R tracker with Suntech Fatigue Camera attachment – driver can also be recognized and assigned by the camera.
  • Driver change
    The rule “Driver change” will be useful for the organizations, where multiple drivers use the same vehicle. Having set up this feature, you will always be aware of who drives at the moment; the system informs you by SMS or email you indicated, and also send notifications to X-GPS.Monitor application.Notice: The “Driver change” rule is available only for the devices with connected RFID or iButton reader (or any other equipment for driver identification).
  • Fatigue driving
    Alert will notify dispatch in case driver’s fatigue is detected. Timely detection of tiredness is crucial to preventing accidents, reducing losses and keeping employee health in check.
  • Social distancing monitoring
    The rule of social distancing monitoring allows employees to know if they have crossed each other and if they have breached personal distance.At the moment, this rule supports Teltonika GH5200 device as a handy badge that can be worn around the neck.If the distance between employees is not respected, you will receive an alert on the platform and the device will vibrate and sound.
  • No movement
  • Cruise control switched ON/OFF
    This alert will notify you about enabling or disabling the Cruise control feature in the vehicle.
  • Driver absense
    System will notify you once driver has left their seat.Rule is used for Suntech ST3300R tracker with Suntech Fatigue Camera attachment.
  • Driver distraction
    System will notify you once it detects that driver is distracted (smoking, watching the phone).Rule is used for Suntech ST3300R tracker with Suntech Fatigue Camera attachment.
  • Distance between objects
    Rule will allow you to track if objects are moving towards or away from each other.
    Could be very useful for tracking trailers or detecting safe distance breaching on the road.One rule can have up to 100 secondary devices, to which the distance from main object will be checked.
    Allowed distance interval is 20 – 20 000 000 meters

Device

  • Tracker switched OFF or lost connection
    Sometimes connection can be lost for different reasons. For example, no GSM signal in tracker location or battery is low. In such cases the system will fix it in the events history and  inform you about it by SMS or email.
  • GSM jamming
    Some trackers can track interference with GSM signal reception by the device. This helps prevent an attempted car theft.
  • GPS jamming
    Some trackers can track interference with GPS signal reception by the device. This helps prevent an attempted car theft.
  • Low battery
    The majority of GPS-trackers have an internal battery and can work autonomously from 10 to 20 hours. Working time depends on accumulator capacity and operating conditions. Not to forget to charge your battery you can set the rule “Low battery”. When you have less than 30% of charge, you will get automatic notification about the necessity to charge your battery by SMS, email, Push-notification, or automatic phone call.
  • Bracelet sensor
    Used for personal bracelet trackers to notify authorities in case of unauthorized removal.
  • Car alarm triggered
    Receive alerts when vehicles alarm system goes off. Prevent theft and notify dispatch if needed.
  • Tracker detach from the object
    Ensure your goods are perfectly tracked and receive notification when tracker has been removed from an object.
  • External power cut
    In case you have a number of vehicles with trackers mounted on it, this rule is very useful for you! You will get SMS or email notification when some dishonest employee tries to cut external power.
  • Ignition start in alarm mode
    The rule is available for models with the so-called “Alarm Mode”, which is activated according to the specified conditions (for example, if the ignition is off and there is no vibration for more than 10 minutes). The system will notify you if ignition gets switched on in this mode.
  • Hood/door opening in alarm mode
    The rule is available for models with the so-called “Alarm Mode”, which is activated according to the specified conditions (for example, if the ignition is off and there is no vibration for more than 10 minutes). The system will notify you if a door or hood is opened in this mode.
  • Alarm mode ON/OFF
    This rule generates “Alarm mode” notifications on devices where this feature is available.
  • Location report on demand
    For some devices, a manual request for coordinates is available via SMS or GPRS channel in cases where the tracker went to sleep and turned off the GPS module. Coordinates can be requested by clicking the Refresh button in the location widget.This rule will notify you of every tracker’s response to such a request.
  • Connection/disconnection to the OBDII port
    OBD trackers often have very weak batteries and drain quickly if unplugged.This rule will notify you about the disconnection of the tracker so that you can react quickly before the device is discharged
  • Tracker switch ON/OFF
    Sometimes the connection can be lost for different reasons. For example, no GSM signal in the tracker location or battery is low. In such cases, the system will fix it in the events history and inform you about it by SMS or email.
  • Locking/unlocking (padlock)
    If you use a smart lock, then you just need this rule. You will receive a notification every time someone opens and closes the lock.
  • Backup battery low
    Most models of trackers (even vehicle ones) have a built-in battery to keep the device operating without external power. Sometimes the battery lasts for months, and in some models it only lasts for a few hours.This rule will notify you when the charge drops below 20%. You will be able to react in a timely manner and charge your device.
  • Case intrusion
    This rule is usually available for cargo trackers that attach to a tracked item. If someone opens the case of the device, the tracker will immediately send an alert.
  • GPS signal lost/recover
    The rule is triggered when the GPS signal is not available and the tracker cannot fix its location. Most often this happens in a building or underground.Please note that the rule will only work if the cellular signal is available and the tracker has access to the Internet.
  • Padlock tampering
    If you use a smart lock tracker, then use this rule for notifications about hacking attempts. It works if the lock was not opened with a key or a command from the server.
  • Vibration sensor
    This rule is triggered when the device detects continuous vibration while parking. The triggering mechanism is similar to that of a conventional car alarm.
  • Light sensor
    Reacts to the  light sensor triggering, which is usually used in cargo trackers to detect removal from the tracked object.
  • Call button pressed
    Some trackers have the ability to make a call to a pre-programmed phone number. This rule will notify you when the call button is pressed.
  • Tracker switched ON
    This rule is triggered immediately after the tracker has been turned on.
  • GPS antenna disconnected
    Create this rule to receive timely notifications for when the GPS antenna is disconnected from the tracker. It can be one of the reasons why satellite signal is lost and you’ll be able to fix it with zero delays.

    Some car trackers are equipped with an external GPS antenna connected to the device via a special input. This antenna can be moved some distance away from the tracker where reception is optimal.

  • Check Engine (MIL)
    The rule is available for devices connected via OBD connector. If the “Check engine” indicator flashes on the dashboard, the tracker will know about it and you will receive a notification.The error code can be found in the OBD data widget.

Inputs and outputs

  • Inputs triggering
    Some vehicle GPS-trackers are equipped with inputs. To inputs, you can connect different tools such as car track opening or SOS button pressing. If you set up this rule, the system will inform you about inputs triggering by SMS or email.
  • Outputs triggering
    Most GPS devices are equipped with outputs. The number of outputs depends on each particular GPS hardware. By changing the outputs state in the widget bar of your monitoring account, you can manage various equipment (e.g. block/unblock the engine, arm/disarm the alarm, etc). By setting this type of rule, you will be able to receive alerts by SMS or email about every change of the output’s state.
  • Parameter in range

    Most modern GPS trackers allow connecting a variety of additional sensors to measure temperature, humidity, tilt angle, fuel level, and other parameters. Enable the Parameter in Range rule if you wish to:

    • set the range of values for a required parameter (temperature, fuel level, etc.)
    • enable notifications if the monitored value is out of range
    • enable notifications if the monitored value is back in range

    Parameter in Range rule is often used to monitor conditions of food, beverages, and medicines transportation, etc.

     

    For instance, refrigerated meat and poultry products must be transported within the range of 33.8…35.6 °F (+1…+2 °C).  If you wish to make sure your products transport meets the requirements, then:

    • Install a GPS-tracker on a vehicle
    • Install a temperature sensor and connect it to the tracker.
    • Create the Parameter in Range rule and set that the in-range value should be more than +33.8 °F (+1 °C) and less than +35.6 °F (+2 °C).

    Once the sensor measures that the temperature is less than +33.8 F (+1 °C)  or more than +35.6 °F (+2 °C), a notification will be instantly sent by the monitoring system saying that the value is out of range. You’ll be able to take immediate measures to keep your products fresh.

  • State field value
    You can track object states like doors, handbrake, airbag etc., and configure events like ADAS, DTC, errors. When the platform gets the desired value in the state field, you will be notified.

    To get an alert on the state change:

    • Choose the necessary state field and set an expected value for it. For example, state field = driver door expected value = open.
    • Disable allow repeat feature and remain repeat delay empty. In this case, you will be notified only if value changes.

    To get an alert on event:

    • Choose the necessary state field and set an expected value for it. For instance, state field = event_code, expected value = 7 (over speed alarm for Howen). For every event code, you need to create a new rule. All expected values you can find on the device’s manufacturer website or ask them directly through  the manufacturer’s support.
    • Enable allow repeat to get notifications for the same values and set repeat delay – how often the same values will provide you with a notification. For example, you want to be notified about over speeding every 30 minutes at most, so set the repeat delay to 1800 seconds.
